“Un passo avanti tanti dietro,” the retrospective of Marion Baruch presented by Museo Novecento, extends its dialogue to Polimoda, offering an immersive encounter with one of the most compelling and cosmopolitan voices in contemporary art.
Curated by Sergio Risaliti and Stefania Rispoli in collaboration with Manifattura Tabacchi, the exhibition unveils a series of monumental textile installations at Polimoda—works that have cemented Baruch’s international legacy.
These pieces, crafted from discarded textiles, articulate a poetic tension between presence and absence, material and void. Embracing transparency and color as expressive tools, Baruch’s work redefines emptiness not as a lack, but as a space of possibility—an open passage to infinite artistic interpretations.
Spanning Museo Novecento, Polimoda, and Manifattura Tabacchi, this exhibition traces over six decades of artistic exploration, mapping Baruch’s ability to intertwine materiality and meaning with remarkable sensitivity. On view from March 15 to June 8, it invites reflection on the profound dialogue between fashion, art, and the spaces in between.
